3 or 4 days now. My grandson just went out and checked it again, low and behold we had a mocking bird in there!! Don't want that! Got to protect our state bird.

One more case in point however, that we must be vigilant in checking ANY traps we set. We never want to risk any harm coming to one of our feathered friends.

Very good point. I put together a good little spiel on this subject involving the dove I trapped the other day and this is more proof so trap responsibly.

Tell you what, those mocking birds sure are assertive!

I had to install a protective cover on the perch of my repeater. It made the landing area of the perch smaller. A dove got stuck in the trap last summer and died of exposure/stress. After that mishap, I only have the trap out and "running" while I'm home.
