Just a note of reminder that we should always make certain we have plenty of properly positioned vent holes in the nest boxes. This is especially true in the southern states.

Don't mean to differ pink, but the vent holes are for the heat control as well as humidity. What happens is that without any type of vent holes, the birds overheat. This is especially true when the nest is housing 5-7 new babies. You will see them at the nest entrance litterally panting. The next step is that they will actually jump from the nest or be inadvertantly pushed out by nest mates trying to cool off.

Well that makes sense. I will say though that I have significant trouble breathing in saunas!
